The three research themes addressed by the Centre are:

-         Centre for Food and Taste Sciences (CSGA): generic and applied studies carried out in this centre focus on improving and gaining a clearer understanding and of the human diet by studying the determinants of food consumption and the relationships between food and health, and by analysing the characteristics of different foods.  Taste is one of the current pillars of food innovation.

-       Agroecology: an emerging discipline that will enrich agronomy with new knowledge of ecological processes and interactions between communities in agricultural areas, while at the same time respecting the equilibriums of natural dynamics and taking account of territorial and socioeconomic aspects.  We experiment on innovative farming systems and integrated management strategies for agricultural land.

-       Territories and development: based on sociological and economic foundations, the aim of this work is to throw pertinent new light on the dynamics of rural areas and farming activities in order to inform debate by public and professional stakeholders in the context of agricultural and food industries that are seeing profound change.

These three complementary themes are linked by interfaced research projects.
